Monsoon wave is about to arrive in Delhi.

Currently, entire North India is suffering from extreme heat. People are not getting relief from the heat not only during the day but also at night. However, due to Western Disturbance, rain is falling in some areas. To find out the answers to all these questions, the TV9 Bharatvarsh team spoke to Soma Sen Rai, Senior Scientist, Meteorological Department.

According to the Meteorological Department, the Western Disturbance has brought heavy rains along with thunderstorms over North East India. This is not monsoon. This is not a long-term or large-scale process. When the Western Disturbance passes, we expect temperatures to rise again. We have been saying for a long time that the relief that has been achieved in East India is due to other reasons. There is a heatwave situation in Bihar-Jharkhand. which is bringing moisture from the Arabian Sea to North East India. Along with the Western Disturbance, which is still over Jammu and Kashmir. Temperatures are likely to rise again from the 22nd when it leaves.

According to Soma Sen Rai, temperatures will not rise uniformly everywhere, as the western region still dominates. Clear skies are likely, so we call it probability. In the east, it will also gradually start making more inroads as the monsoon advances, but as per heat wave conditions with high probability, heat wave conditions are likely to persist over West Uttar Pradesh. For three to four days i.e. till 23rd and in Delhi till 23rd or 24th, we expect heatwave conditions.

Despite rising temperatures from all other states, conditions have not reached heatwave, but temperatures will rise. We will not give further predictions now, as it is possible that if the monsoon winds advance a bit more, the situation may be different.

Currently, which areas will get relief due to Western Disturbance? What is the difference between day and night temperature?

Regarding this, Soma Sen Rai said that today we hope that the temperature of the capital Delhi will be around 40 degrees. It has decreased by 5 to 6 degrees. The minimum temperature has also dropped significantly. It will be around 29 or 30 degrees. Similarly, the temperature will start to rise a little from tomorrow. Because of this increase, you will again feel a little uncomfortable, but the heat wave will come around the 23rd and 24th.

What is the weather department’s estimate of when monsoon will arrive in Delhi?

There should be no speculation about this. Based on old data, June 27 is the monsoon date, but this time we are not talking about a day proper. Now we will talk about three or four days only. We expect the monsoon to advance and cover the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh, crossing eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Orissa.

What advice will the Meteorological Department give to the public at present?

In the current situation heatwave should be considered. Currently, the heat level is decreasing in the entire country. At the same time, hurricane activity is increasing. The activity of this storm, as the monsoon progresses, heavy storm activity is seen in its vicinity. It becomes very terrible in the afternoon. In this, the probability of lightning strikes increases and mostly people die due to these storms, as the frequency of storms increases and this is our annual death toll.

Due to lightning it is much higher at this time, so the increase in heat waves does not end our fear. There is potential for danger to animals and humans associated with hurricanes. Vidarbha, North Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh are states where cyclone deaths occur every year. This requires caution.
