The case of rape and murder of a junior lady doctor in West Bengal’s Kolkata is still hot. There is anger across the country towards the accused Sanjay Roy. It seems as if Sanjay has no remorse for his act. When he was psychologically tested, there were no wrinkles on his forehead. He was answering every question shamelessly. The matter is currently in court. Everyone wants to know which lawyer will represent this brute in court? Today we will answer this for you.

Hardly any lawyer would want to fight the case of Sanjay’s incident with the lady doctor. In this case also it is visible. But in every case a lawyer is definitely given to represent the side of the accused. So even in the lady doctor case, the government has made provision for a woman lawyer to represent the accused Sanjay Roy. His name is Kabita Sarkar.

For 52-year-old Kabita Sarkar, the case is the toughest in her 25-year legal career. He will fight the case of Sanjay Koy, the culprit of Doctor Putri, in the Sealdah court. When no lawyer agreed to fight his case, the case was handed over to Kavita Sarkar, as she is the only standing lawyer of the State Legal Authority in Sealdah. Today he will file papers in court and seek permission to fight the case.

What did Kavita Sarkar say on this case?

Kabita Sarkar, like others, says she wants justice for the victim doctor’s daughter, according to an interview with The Times of India. But for them, justice is after the court hearing, and not before. He says that everyone in this country has the right to a fair trial, regardless of the accused. Regarding the ongoing women’s movement and protests across the country, Kabita Sarkar said that I am doing my job. My job is to represent accused persons who do not have access to lawyers in criminal cases.

Lawyer Sahiba said – this is not the only case. I have done this before. I have paid the bail bonds from my salary. If the court asks me to represent the accused, I will do the same. I will appeal to the court to allow my senior counsel Saurabh Banerjee to accompany me when I present Sanjay Roy’s case.

‘I do not support demand for death penalty’

When the Kabita government was asked about the death penalty for Sanjay Roy, it said that it does not personally support the demand for death penalty. Life imprisonment is the highest punishment for them. He has visited prisons and the Presidency Women’s Reformatory. He said that any person should be given an opportunity to look inside his life i.e. introspect and be found guilty of the crime. He said that one should always remember that the law says that anyone is innocent until proven guilty.
