A shocking case has come to light from Maharashtra. Here a thief stole from the house first. When it was discovered that he had stolen valuables from the house of a famous Marathi writer, he repented. He reached the poet’s house and returned all his stolen goods. Not only that, he stuck a small note on the wall. In this he apologized to the owner for stealing from the house of the great literary man. Police have taken fingerprints from TVs and other items. The search for the accused is going on.

A police officer said that the thief had stolen valuables including an LED TV from the house of Narayan Surve in Neral, Raigad district. Born in Mumbai, Surve was a famous Marathi poet and social activist. Surve, who vividly portrayed the struggles of the urban labor class in his poems, died on 16 August 2010 at the age of 84. Surve’s daughter Sujata and her husband Ganesh Khare now live in this house. He had gone to Virar with his son and his house was closed for 10 days.

Apologized to the owner for the theft

Meanwhile, the thief entered the house and stole some items including LED TV. The next day when he came to steal some other things, he saw Surve’s photo and honors etc. in one of the rooms. The thief was very remorseful. As a sign of repentance, he returned the stolen goods. Not only that, he pasted a small note on the wall, in which he apologized to the owner for stealing from the great writer’s house. Inspector Shivaji Dhavle of Neral police station said Sujata and her husband found the note when they returned from Virar on Sunday.

Police are investigating the case

He said the police have conducted further investigations based on the fingerprints found on the TV and other items. Losing his parents as a child, Surve grew up on the streets of Mumbai. They worked as domestic help, cleaning dishes in hotels, looking after children, looking after pet dogs, delivering milk, porters and mill labourers. Surve tried to describe the struggles of the laborers through his poems.
