While making reel, slips and drowns in river, physiotherapist dies

The youth committed suicide by jumping into the river Ganges

Video-making fun in the Ganges proved too much for the physiotherapist on Thursday at Kohna, a bank of the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur. While making a video of the reel, someone’s mobile received a call. He started talking on the phone. While talking, the young man making the reel went deep into the Ganges and began to plead for his life. But by the time the friend noticed and jumped in to save him, it was too late. According to people present, as soon as the friend disconnected the call, he jumped into the Ganges and tried to save him, but he too started drowning.

On hearing his voice, divers present nearby tried to save both of them, but the physiotherapist drowned in the Ganges during the incident. While another youth was rescued by divers. After coming to know about the incident, the police reached the spot, investigated the matter and informed the family members.

The marriage took place 6 months ago

Shubham Shukla, a 27-year-old resident of Naubasta Khadepur, was a physiotherapist by profession, who was Dr. Used to sit in Narula’s clinic. He got married six months ago to Divya, a resident of Shivrajpur. The family consists of father Raj Shukla and mother Savita. Informing about the incident, the deceased’s brother-in-law Saurabh said that at 5 am on Thursday, Shubham had gone to bathe in the Ganga at Magazine Ghat in Kohna along with his friend Tushar. He was having fun in the Ganga by taking photos and making a video reel while bathing in the Ganga.

Then suddenly Tushar called and started talking. By then Shubham was drowning and Tusshar himself was drowning while trying to save him. Divers tried to save both the drowning people. But Shubham could not be saved. Half an hour later, divers recovered Shubham’s body after a long search in the Ganga. In the entire incident, Awadhesh Kumar, in-charge of Kohna police station, said that the youth drowned while taking a deep dive.
