Independence Day is going to be celebrated with great fervor in the national capital Delhi on Thursday, for which the administration is fully prepared. Police to security agencies are busy making preparations to ensure that no untoward incident takes place during the programme. Road traffic will be diverted from railways keeping security in mind. Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory for this. A full dress rehearsal will be held on August 13, during which many roads around the Red Fort in Delhi will be closed to the general public and only labeled vehicles will be allowed to enter.
If you are passing through Delhi’s Red Fort on August 13, keep in mind that the road from Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail will remain closed. Apart from this, GPO to Chatta Rail, HC Sen Marg to Yamuna Bazar, Fountain Chowk to Lal Qilla, Ring Road to Netaji Subhash Chandra Road, Rajghat to ISBT, Outer Ring Road to ISBT and IP Flyover have been included.
Roads to reach North Delhi
Also, you can take alternate routes avoiding other nearby routes so that you don’t face any problem in travel. On the other hand, if you are looking for alternative routes, if you want to go somewhere in North Delhi, you should go via Aurobindo to Safdarjung, Kamal Ataturk Road to Kautilya, SPM, 11 Murthy to Mother Teresa, Pacquiao Road. Jhansi Road and reach your destination in North Delhi.
To go to North Delhi, you can reach ODRS via Connaught Place Minto Road, Ajmeri Gate, Lahore Gate, Pili Kothi, SP Mukherjee Marg. Third option is to cross Yamuna via Nizamuddin Bridge, via Pushta to GT Road and Yudhishthira Setu, after leaving ISBT, you can reach North Delhi.
From here go to West Delhi
If you want to go to West Delhi, there are many alternative routes. You can take ring road from Nizamuddin Khatta under AIIMS flyover via Barapula road. From the DND-Barapula road, the ashram can be approached further from the ring road. NH 24 can be reached via Nizamuddin Khatta Ring Road, Bhainaro Road, Mathura Road, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg. Apart from these routes, there are other routes that will save you from traffic and restricted routes.
