The newly appointed accountant asked the DM a question.

It is one thing to get a position and another thing to maintain the dignity of the position. Your ability may get you a position, but it is your responsibility to maintain it. It often happens that a small folly or a moment’s anger causes a lifetime to pay. One such case has come to light from UP’s Badanu.

In UP’s Badaun district, less than 5 hours passed after the accountant received the joining letter and the DM issued his dismissal notice. During an ongoing meeting in the presence of the DM and the minister, the newly appointed accountant did something that became problematic for his job and the DM issued a termination notice seeking an explanation from the accountant.

Appointment letters were being distributed

In fact, a program was organized to issue joining letters to accountants at the Atal Auditorium of the Collector complex. Central Mandir BL Verma and Sadar MLA and District Magistrate Manoj Kumar were present in it. Appointment letters were given to newly appointed 110 accountants. This included Mahendra, who was posted in Reonia area of Sadar tehsil. But when the DM and the minister were having breakfast, Mahendra suddenly approached them and accused them of partiality.

Accountant adamant about breakfast

The newly appointed accountant said that you guys are having breakfast, but you didn’t order anything for the accountants. DM did not like this harsh attitude of Lekhpal Sahib. He said you go to the seat and sit with other accountants and there you will be served breakfast. But Lekhpal Sahib was not going to agree. He stood there despite the DM. What happened next was that after the Union Minister left, the DM instructed the Sadar SDM to seek an explanation from the newly appointed accountant and fire him if he did not give a satisfactory answer. According to the information, a notice has also been issued by the SDM. The SDM’s notice sought a response from the accountant within two days, and also said that failure to do so would be considered for termination of service.
