Heavy rain has been going on for the last few days in many states of the country including Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, the incidence of landslides in the mountains has increased. A landslide occurred at one place on Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Marg on Monday. Due to which the journey was disrupted for some time but the journey was resumed on the old track. The news of four people injured in the accident is also coming out.
Initial information has been received that the landslide occurred on the bird path leading to the Vaishno Devi temple. This new road was built to reach the temple, however, after its disruption, travelers are prevented from going further. Instead, the journey is currently continuing on the old track. A landslide has occurred near the Pankshi Helipad, due to which the Sri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board has launched relief and rescue operations here.

At present only two tracks are opened for devotees to reach Mata Vaishno Devi, one is the old track and the other is the new track known as Pankshi Marg. A landslide has occurred near the helipad on the flyway track, affecting the route. The debris is currently being cleared, however heavy rains may take more time to clear the debris. After the landslide, commuters have been stopped on the road and appealed to be alert.
40 thousand devotees come every day
Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Temple holds special significance for people who believe in Sanatan all over the country and the world. Due to this, thousands of devotees flock here every day. During Navratri this figure reaches lakhs. These days 40-50 thousand devotees reach the Mata Vaishno Devi temple every year. In winter this number drops to 10-15 thousand but Vaishnodevi rarely sees less than this number of devotees.
