A shocking case has come to light from Korba district of Chhattisgarh. A 22-year-old man was bitten by a snake here. The youth died due to snake bite. Due to the death of the youth, there was a lot of anger among the people of the village. Reportedly, after the youth’s death, enraged villagers captured the snake and burnt it alive along with the youth’s pyre. The officials there have informed about this incident.

According to officials, Digeshwar Rathia, a resident of Baigamar village, has died. After the death of the village son due to snake bite, the villagers expressed their anger on the snake and took revenge by burning the snake alive along with its pyre. Digeshwar’s body was first sent for postmortem. The post mortem report revealed that he died due to snake bite. Digeshwar’s body was handed over to his family after the post-mortem report. Even before his body was found, the snake that bit Digeshwar was caught by the villagers.

Took the snake to the basket

After catching the snake, the villagers carried it in a basket. According to officials, the captured snake was tied with a rope hanging from a pillar. The snake that had bitten Digeshwar in his funeral procession was also taken along with his family members. The snake was taken to the crematorium and the snake was also placed on the burning pyre of Digeshwar.

The reason given by the villagers for killing the snake was that it was poisonous and would not bite anyone else, so it was better to burn it. When officials got information about this, Korba Divisional Officer Ashish said that the villagers would not be punished for killing the snake.

There has been a significant increase in snake bite cases. In such a situation, it is necessary to train people for this, so that they avoid killing them and also take care of their safety. Because the presence of snakes is also important for the environment.
