In an interview given to Bollywood Bubble, Big B spoke about this particular scene. In the year 1970, a film called ‘Bombay Talkie’ was released. The picture was produced under the James Ivory-Ismail Merchant banner. Shashi Cooper played the lead role in this film.

The film had a crowd scene, in which Amitabh Bachchan played a part. But, when Shashi Kapoor saw him, he did not want Amitabh to play the role. He also asked Big B to leave. In fact, Shashi Kapoor did not want Amitabh to do such small roles. He believed that Amitabh was made for a big role. However, even after saying this, Amitabh played the role. He said that at that time he received a fee of Rs 50 for this role.
