Team India’s star batsman Suryakumar Yadav performed well against Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup. While going to one side, he caught one side. India’s innings started badly and Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Captain Rohit Sharma was out after scoring 8 runs, while Virat Kohli could also score only 24 runs. His wicket was taken by Rashid Khan. Suryakumar Yadav played an aggressive innings. He completed his half-century in just 27 balls. His runs played an important role in India’s victory.

After the match, the BCCI shared a video of a conversation between Suryakumar and all-rounder Axar Patel, which shows their performance. Axar mentioned an interesting moment during the match where Kohli was seen advising Suryakumar to bat after the break of the 10th over. Suryakumar’s aggressive innings brought success to the Indian team.

“We got a break in the 10th over and I heard Virat bhai saying something. What was that because as soon as you go back (to the field), you start hitting slog-sweeps and so on!” Axar Patel asked him. Suryakumar, on the other hand, replied that he wanted to increase the pace after a slow start to the Indian innings, so he took an aggressive approach.

“Actually, 160 looked like a par score on this wicket. It was difficult to bat initially. But then, I thought that after the break, if I start at a fast pace and hit some boundaries, it will be easier for us and the new batsmen as well.

Akshar said smilingly, “This means you defamed Virat Bhai!”

Suryakumar laughed and said, “No, no, I didn’t say anything nonsense!

This was the batsman’s second consecutive half-century; in his previous innings, he scored an unbeaten 50 off 49 balls to guide India to a seven-wicket win in a 111-run challenge against the USA. The result sealed India’s entry into the Super Eight of the tournament.

India’s next match is against Bangladesh

India’s next challenge will be against Bangladesh. On Friday, Australia faced defeat in the first Super Eight match. India had earlier faced Bangladesh in a practice match of the tournament last month, where Rohit Sharma’s team won by 60 runs.
