According to a report by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAT), around 48 lakh marriages are expected to take place across the country in the upcoming wedding season. In which there may be a business of Rs 5.9 lakh crore. What is special is that 4.5 lakh marriages are expected to take place in the country’s capital Delhi alone. In which there may be a business of Rs 1.5 lakh crore. According to the CAT report, the retail sector is expected to benefit the most during the wedding season. In this, Indian products can outperform foreign products.

CAT national general secretary and MP Praveen Khandelwal said this study has shown that consumers are giving maximum preference to Indian products, confirming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a “local” and self-reliant India. Khandelwal said this year there is a new trend of increasing spending on wedding-related social media services.
