Many areas in Bhagalpur district of Bihar face the problem of floods every year. Due to floods people suffer huge losses. Many times people’s houses are destroyed. Women sit on the banks of the river and sing songs to please the Goddess Ganga. Women are also expressing their grief to Mother Ganga by singing songs. Through songs, the women are asking Ganga Maiya to return.
River Ganges has flooded roads and people’s houses in Masadhu village of Sabour block in Bhagalpur. People are troubled due to floods. The women say to mother Ganga that she had built a house by eating half a loaf of bread, she lived her life in that house, but now how will my son and grandson live? Where will it go? what do you eat You broke the bricks of the house yourself, but where to take it? Now there is no space left. O Mother Ganga, you have entered the village, now go back and have mercy on the poor. Saying this, the woman started crying. The tears were expressing how much trouble people are facing due to flood.

Heavy erosion continues for 12 days
Sitting at the mouth of the wash, more than two dozen women of the village are cherishing Mother Ganga. River Ganges has assumed a fierce form. A strong flow of water is seen till the end of the village. Then the apathetic attitude of the government and administration is disturbing and depressing the people. In such a situation, women are trying to pacify Mother Ganga by singing songs and expressing their faith towards her. Let us tell you that rapid erosion is going on in this village for the last 12 days, so far many houses, more than 2 bigha of land, village roads, trees, electricity poles have been submerged in the river. The villagers are destroying the house with their own hands, now the women are tired and busy bathing the Mother Ganga.
