Many areas in Bhagalpur district of Bihar face the problem of floods every year. Due to floods people suffer huge losses. Many times people’s houses are destroyed. Women sit on the banks of the river and sing songs to please the Goddess Ganga. Women are also expressing their grief to Mother Ganga by singing songs. Through songs, the women are asking Ganga Maiya to return.

River Ganges has flooded roads and people’s houses in Masadhu village of Sabour block in Bhagalpur. People are troubled due to floods. The women say to mother Ganga that she had built a house by eating half a loaf of bread, she lived her life in that house, but now how will my son and grandson live? In such a situation, women are trying to pacify Mother Ganga by singing songs and expressing their faith towards her. Let us tell you that rapid erosion is going on in this village for the last 12 days, so far many houses, more than 2 bigha of land, village roads, trees, electricity poles have been submerged in the river. The villagers are destroying the house with their own hands, now the women are tired and busy bathing the Mother Ganga.
