AIIMS Gorakhpur
For better treatment of patients, AIIMS located in Gorakhpur district headquarters is not severing its ties with controversies. Patna AIIMS Director Dr. G.K. was given the responsibility here. It is alleged that he had admitted his son to a PG course under the OBC quota, but hastily canceled his son’s admission after the matter went viral on social media. The matter has now reached Union Health Minister JP Nadda.
Recently former Executive Director Dr. Surekha Kishor also appointed her two sons to the post of resident doctor. After this he was accused of giving salary to his sons without performing any duty. He was removed from his post last January when the matter began to gain momentum. Dr. GK was given the charge only after he was removed from the post, now similar charges have been leveled against him.
90 lakhs income Rs. 8 lakh declared
Director of Patna AIIMS Dr GK Pal is also in charge of Gorakhpur AIIMS. It is alleged that his son Dr. Aurav Prakash Pal took admission in Microbiology Department as Junior Resident PG course. Also, for admission under quota, he obtained OBC certificate made from Patna. Information has surfaced that while producing the certificate, he had shown his annual income of less than Rs 8 lakh and had shown himself to be outside the creamy layer. Dr. GK Pal himself is the director of two AIIMS and Dr. Aurav’s mother is also a professor in Puducherry. Thus, the total income of Aurav’s parents reaches around Rs 90 lakhs. Despite this, he admitted the son by declaring himself outside the creamy layer.
Now many questions are being raised
As the matter escalated, Director GK started saying that his son had no interest in studying microbiology, so he canceled his admission. People are questioning that if everything was fine then why was the admission canceled after two days? Why was the admission canceled in such a hurry? Also, who will be appointed on the vacant seat? Before this Dr. Surekha Kishore was the Director of AIIMS Gorakhpur. He also faced serious allegations regarding the posting of his two sons.
