A resident of Delhi has accused Naheem Ali Chishti, the mutawalli (custodian) of Hazrat Sultan Sahib Dargah at Pirgap in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, of selling property worth crores of rupees in front of the Oberoi Hotel in Delhi. However, Muslim religious leader Naheem Ali Chishti says that in Delhi A conspiracy has been hatched by people associated with the dargah built near the Oberoi hotel to defame him and take over the land.
When Naheem Chishti was questioned about this property, he said that all the allegations are false. He will not leave this land to anyone until he dies. He got this land on rent from the Waqf Board in 1992. Since 1992, this land has been continuously in possession of Nahim Chishti, since 1992 the rent of this land has been continuously deposited by him, this land was allotted to him at a rent of Rs.500 per annum.
The land was re-examined
He said that Samajwadi Party leader Shafiqur Rehman Burke had raised the issue of illegal occupation of this land. Then the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also took notice of this land issue and after that bulldozers were used on the illegal encroachment there. After this the entire land was re-examined. After the investigation, this land is no longer with Chishti. Chishti does not have all her documents available. In such a situation, Nahim Chishti has called the allegations against him as false.
What is waqf property?
According to Islam, if any Muslim donates any of his wealth in the name of Allah for the benefit of humanity, it is called waqf. No one has ownership rights over waqf property. The property is also of no importance to the family of the person for whom the property is waqf. The purpose of donating property in Islam is to benefit the common people.
