Appeal to postpone Char Dham Yatra
An appeal has been made to postpone Chardham Yatra due to bad weather in Uttarakhand. This has been said by the Meteorological Department Center for some time keeping in mind the safety of the devotees. A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department due to heavy rains in the state. There have also been reports of landslides at various places in the state, blocking vehicular movement in many areas. In such a situation, people going on pilgrimage to Char Dham may also have to face the wrath of the weather.
Devotees were also advised to take extra precautions in landslide-affected areas. According to the Meteorological Department, Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Nainital, Haridwar, Kedarnath are likely to experience heavy rain with thunderstorm. Apart from this, the possibility of storm and lightning has also been expressed in many places.
More than 70 roads were closed
Over 70 roads have been closed due to heavy rains and landslides in the state. More than 200 routes were affected on Tuesday and Wednesday, where vehicular movement came to a standstill. Many of these roads have been opened on Thursday, with pictures of a sudden landslide on the Badrinath National Highway on Wednesday. The landslide occurred near the Patalganga Langsi Tunnel. So far no major disaster has occurred due to landslides. However, due to the yellow alert of rain, the Meteorological Department has appealed to the devotees to postpone the Char Dham Yatra for some time.
Such vigilance is being kept so that no major tragedy occurs. In such a situation devotees may be delayed in reaching the temple, but they will be safe.
