According to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Ministry of Finance, AKM Shahabuddin, Additional Secretary, Economic Relations Division, and Reed J. Eschliman, Mission Director, USAID (United States Agency for International Development). signed the sixth amendment to the Development Objectives Grant (DOAG) Agreement in Dhaka on behalf of their respective countries’ governments. Under the agreement, USAID will provide a grant of $202.2 million to Bangladesh to promote opportunities in good governance, social, humanitarian and economic sectors, state-run news agency BSS reported.
$20.22 million settlement
USAID-Bangladesh said in a post that it had signed an agreement worth more than $200 million with the Government of Bangladesh. Earlier on Sunday, senior adviser to the interim government, Muhammad Yunus, met with a high-level US delegation and urged the US to cooperate in rebuilding Bangladesh and completing important reforms.
