The UPSC exam is considered to be the toughest exam in the country, in which candidates who qualify are selected for major posts like IAS, IPS and IFS. The exam is conducted in three stages, which include prelims, mains and interview. UPSC Main Exam is starting from 20 September i.e. from today. The exam will be conducted in two shifts. In the morning shift, the exam will start with the essay paper. Please note that candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination center without a copy of their e-admit card.
UPSC Mains Exam 2024: What can’t be taken to the exam centre?
- Candidates will not be allowed to carry mobile phones or any other electronic devices inside the examination centre, even if it is closed.
- Candidates may not carry any programming device or storage media, such as pen drive or smart watch as well as camera and bluetooth devices in the examination hall.
- Candidates will not be allowed to carry items like books and bags into the examination centre.
- Carrying of flammable items like matchsticks or cigarette lighter is also prohibited in the examination centre.
- Candidates are also prohibited from carrying valuables into the exam hall or UPSC campus, as the exam center does not guarantee their safety i.e. if you carry jewelry etc. into the exam center, take it at your own risk.
UPSC Mains Exam 2024: What can be taken at the exam center?
- Candidates will be allowed to carry only their e-admit card, pen, pencil, photo ID proof and photograph etc. to the examination centre.
- The UPSC website states that candidates should reach the exam center on time, as entry to the center is closed 30 minutes before the exam begins. Candidates arriving after the examination center doors are closed will not be allowed to take the examination.
UPSC Mains Exam 2024: When is the main exam?
Paper II (GS I) and Paper III (GS II) exams will be held on the second day of UPSC Mains exam i.e. 21 September 2024 and this exam will also be held in two shifts. The exam will be conducted in the first shift from 9 AM to 12 AM and in the second shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. After this, on September 22, the examination will be held for Paper IV (GS III) in the first shift and Paper V (GS IV) in the second shift.
Then Paper-A (Indian Language) in the first shift on September 28 and Paper-B (English) in the second shift and Paper VI (Optional Subject- Paper 1) in the first shift on September 29 will be held. ) and Paper VII (optional subject- will be an examination for Paper 2).
