In Bihar, the revenue and land reform department has started land surveying from August 20, but as soon as the survey began, the state was in a state of uproar. In some places cases of corruption are coming to light while in other places cases of forced land acquisition are coming to light. The issue of law and order and land dispute is coming up. For the control of which the government has started the land surveying operation.

But as soon as the survey work starts, new cases of land disputes are coming to light. Not only are there reports of clashes between landowners from many places, there are also reports of workers engaged in survey work being beaten up and held hostage. First of all this happened in Teghra of Begusarai, where road pillars were put up before the land survey and it was declared as their land.

Land surveying is being done by Govt in Bihar. This order has also created an atmosphere of fear among the people and people are enclosing their land and people are not even leaving the road and are avoiding occupation by putting pillars in the middle of the road.

Social activist Shalini Devi said that due to the land survey by the Bihar government, people are trying to occupy the land by cordoning off their lands. The rural road of Hariharpur village built over the years was the main route of movement of people, but as soon as the land owners came to know about the survey, they are encroaching on the road by placing pillars in the middle of the road, causing problems to the people.

At the same time, land owner Gayatri Devi said that our entire family has been living in Delhi for years and when we came home we saw that a road had been built on our land in front of our house and when we measured it. Another case is from Rohtas district, where on the pretext of survey, a distraught woman reached her maternal uncle’s house to get her share in the land. The mother was taken hostage so the police had to be called. During the land survey, Chandkali Devi of Dalmianagar was taken hostage by her own daughter and the land was taken in her name.

Here, MP Pappu Yadav has announced that land mafias are busy grabbing the land of the poor in the name of land measurement. He will launch a campaign against it across the state.

Revenue Minister Dilip Jaiswal said that some people are busy spreading rumors that land survey work has been stopped. The Land Revenue Minister of Bihar Government has made it clear that this work will not stop. People who illegally encroach on government land and grab people’s land are spreading this rumour.
