Independence Day will be celebrated in the country on 15th August. On this day every house will proudly hoist the tricolor. Tricolor flags are being made on a large scale for this holy festival. The work of making the national flag is also going on in full swing in Gazipur district of Uttar Pradesh. These are formed by women through self-help groups. In return, the department is paying them Rs 20. After deducting expenses, women get a profit of 2 to 3 rupees. But due to non-payment of earlier payments, they owe lakhs of rupees.

On the 75th anniversary of the country’s independence in the year 2022, the tricolor campaign for every household was launched as part of the Amrit Mohotsav of Independence. In this campaign, self-help groups were given the responsibility of making more than four lakh tricolor flags across the district. Tricolor flags were procured by various departments of the district and distributed to the general public. On the instructions of the government, the district administration celebrated the tricolor campaign in every house and created a record. But the campaign made women indebted to self-help groups.

441442 Aim to make tricolor flag

Once again, the National Livelihood Mission has been instructed by the government to conduct tricolor campaign in every household from August 13 to 15. Under which tricolors are being prepared by the women of 67 self-help groups this time. As for the tricolor flag, this time the target of making 441442 tricolor flags has been given to the women of the self-help group, who are working day and night to prepare them. But the delay in getting the order to prepare the tricolor flag does not seem to be achieving whatever target the government has set.

32 lakh dues

However, women in self-help groups are not taking much interest in making tricolors now due to arrears of more than 32 lakh rupees in the year 2022. Because one tricolor costs 20 rupees, out of which they are saving only one to two rupees per tricolor. Even after that arrears of lakhs of rupees are being recovered. No one is ready to take care of them.

6 women group achieved the target

Sheela Devi, director of Durga Self Help Group Dhuwarjuna, said that with her, a total of 6 women from the group are busy sewing the tricolor day and night. Each group has been given a target of making 20000 tricolor flags. This time these people have received an advance check of 50% amount for the citation of tricolor. Due to which he is constantly busy sewing tricolors. But for the year 2022, all the self-help groups working with them will get around Rs. 18 lakhs dues are still outstanding. Neither the department nor the district administration is ready to say anything about those dues.

Dues on these 21 divisions of the district

Talking about departmental figures, 21 departments of the district have outstanding amount of Rs.31 lakh 84 thousand. Mainly including Department of Basic Education, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Zilla Panchayat, ADM Office, Vide Revatipur, Vide Bhanwarkol, Nagar Parishad Gazipur, District Supply Department, Labor Department, Municipal Council Mohammadabad, Nagar Panchayat Jangipur and many other departments involved in the money still outstanding. is In this matter, the officer-in-charge Devanandan Dubey said that he has been given the charge of the National Livelihood Mission just a few days ago. He is reviewing it now and will be able to say anything about it only after reviewing it.
