Bulldozer operation started on Banaras Kothi
Hotel owners have leveled serious allegations against the administration over the bulldozer action on Banaras Kothi and River Palace in Varanasi. He said that many other hotels have been built and run illegally here, but action is being taken only on Banaras Kothi and River Palace. On the other hand, the video has also given a jaw-dropping reply to these allegations. He said that the illegally built hotels here were being given notices for many years to stop their operations and now action has been taken against them as per the intention of the government.
Let us tell you that when the VDA action started on Banaras Kothi and River Palace on Saturday afternoon, hotel owner Zafar Ali Khan and his younger brother Khurshid and other family members reached the spot. They made many efforts to stop the proceedings. Even after pleading with the officials, the officials did not stop the work. It is alleged that during this a fight broke out and Zafar Ali Khan fell unconscious. Both these hotels have five floors.
The proceedings have been going on for the last two days
It has total 90 rooms. A total of 4 bulldozers and 150 laborers have been deployed for this operation. Demolition work was carried out on the first day from 3 pm to 9 pm. The proceedings have been going on since this morning. Hotel owner Zafar Khan said that one hotel map was passed in 1999 and the other in 2012. He has also taken a license to run a hotel commercially. However, in the year 2014, this area was declared a green belt.

Questions raised on VDA’s action
At that time he also applied to get the occupation map passed. Zafar Khan questioned the action of VDA and Varanasi administration and said that 27 hotels here have G+2 pass. Can the administration take any action against these hotels as well? He said that since most of these hotels belong to BJP leaders, no action can be taken against them. According to Zafar Khan, 5 lakh rupees are being openly charged for laying slabs here. He said his brother was beaten up by ADM City.
Alleged Violation of Rules
On the other hand, VDA Vice President Pulkit Garg said that Zafar Ali Khan has built two hotels in Buddha Vihar Colony. In which not only the construction has been done on land more than the sanctioned area but also the construction has been done in the green belt prescribed in Master Plan-2031 along Varuna coast along with covering the set back. Apart from this, the basement, ground and 5 floors have also been constructed in the construction of the multi-storied building. As the structure is irreparable, demolition orders have been passed. He said that all legal procedures have been completed before taking this action.
