Girl found in raid at MLA’s house
Last Monday, a girl’s body was found hanging under suspicious circumstances at the house of Samajwadi Party MLA Zahid Baig in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi. Meanwhile, a team of Labor Enforcement Department and police conducted a surprise raid at the MLA’s residence on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the team found a minor girl from there. The girl was working as a maid in the house.
While SP Dr. Meenakshi Katyayan’s team reached the MLA’s residence to investigate the girl’s death and found a minor girl there. The girl told the police that she has been doing domestic work at the SP MLA’s house for the past 8 years. The team then brought the girl to the police station.
The police have conducted a medical examination of the girl
Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairman PC Upadhyay said the police have conducted a medical examination of the minor maid. PC Upadhyay said the recovered minor was produced before the Child Welfare Committee at midnight and was sent to the One Stop Center for a day pending legal work in the related case. The police have collected information about what the girl was doing at the MLA’s house for seven years.
Zahid Baig has won MLA elections from Bhadohi twice.
MLA Zahid Baig is also one of the close aides of Samajwadi Party national president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav. Zahid Baig has won MLA election twice from Bhadohi assembly seat. The girl whose body was found at the MLA’s house is said to be 17 years old. She was working at the MLA’s house for seven years.
