An incident of rape of a girl has come to light in Campierganj of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The girl guarded the mango crop and went to the garden to give food to Baba. On her way back she was abducted by a young man and his two friends. The trio took her to a deserted place, where they tortured her.
Initially, on the complaint of the victim’s grandmother, the case was stuck between the two police stations, but later on the initiative of senior officials, the Campinyarganj police registered the case. The victim is said to be 16 years old. The girl’s grandmother told the police that Golu Yadav of Sant Kabir Nagar had been following her granddaughter for several days. He used to tease her even when she was going to school. As soon as the granddaughter left the house, he would follow her. On Monday, when she was returning from serving food to her grandfather in the garden, Golu Yadav came on a bike with two of his accomplices and started molesting her granddaughter. When she protested, he called two of his associates and kidnapped her.
The grandmother complained to the police
The grandmother told the police that the accused Golu took her granddaughter to a banana farm and raped her and also made a video of it. He was also threatened that if he tells anyone, the video will go viral. I will kill the whole family. After escaping from the clutches of the accused, when the girl reached home, she told me the whole story.
Questions raised on the working style of the police
The youth is a resident of a village under Naulkha Police Station in Mehedwal Police Station area. The girl’s grandmother said that she first approached Naulakha police station with a complaint, but the police there refused to register a case. The police there said that the incident site is in Campierganj police station area, so go there and file a complaint.
What did the SP say?
In this regard, SP Jitendra Srivastav said that based on the complaint of the girl’s grandmother, the police have registered a case under the section of the POCSO Act against the main accused Golu Yadav. Two of Golu’s accomplices cooperated in the crime, so a case has also been registered against them. Police are looking for the accused. He will be arrested soon. The girl has been sent to the hospital for medical examination.
