UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
The Bharatiya Janata Party, which was defeated in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, has now started its efforts to withdraw from the by-elections to be held on 10 seats. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself has won these 10 seats. Along with setting the equations at the organizational level, Yogi is also laying the chessboard at the governance level.
By-elections may be held in October-November to these 10 seats, which have fallen vacant due to resignations and cancellation of membership by MLAs. The by-elections to these UP seats are also being seen as a litmus test for the government.
Yogi is also fighting at the government level
Along with the organization, Yogi Adityanath is also busy in the field at the government level. Some of their recent announcements are hinting at this.
1. On August 17 and 18, CM Yogi Adityanath visited Katehri (Ambedkar Nagar) and Milkipur (Ayodhya). Here he distributed appointment letters to 12,000 youth and tablets and smartphones to 17,000 students. Similarly, 2 days ago, Yogi was on a visit to Mirapur, where he gave tablets to 1 thousand students.
Yogi Adityanath will visit Aligarh on August 27 and it is being said that here too the Chief Minister may distribute appointment letters and tablets under the employment fair. Similarly, it is being said that Yogi tablets and smartphones will be distributed to other seats in future as well.
2. Recently Yogi Adityanath visited Saharanpur and Ghaziabad. He expressed displeasure about the encroachment and the functioning of the municipality in both these places. Orders were given from the government level to take action in both places.
All Municipal Corporations of UP are controlled by BJP. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the SP had identified pollution and encroachment in cities as a major issue. Yogi Adityanath does not want to take any risk at the governance level before the bypolls.
3. Recently, in the matter of recruitment of 69 thousand teachers, the High Court asked the government to prepare a fresh list. The matter is related to OBC reservation and is being seen as a setback for the government. However, the government has not approached the Supreme Court against this decision.
It is being said that the Supreme Court does not want the matter to take a back seat on the basis of caste.
4. The Yogi government on Friday constituted the State Scheduled Castes and Tribes Commission, two years after the formation of the government. Milkipur seat in Ayodhya and Kher seat in Aligarh are reserved among the 10 seats on which by-elections are to be held.
Milkipur seat belongs to SP’s famous Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad. Yogi Adityanath is responsible for winning this seat in BJP.
5. Yogi Adityanath first fielded 30 ministers to win 10 seats in UP and then handed over 2 seats each to 5 big leaders. Chief Minister Yogi has the responsibility of Milkipur and Katheri. Similarly, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak has the responsibility of Sismau and Karhal.
Second Deputy CM Keshav Maurya has the responsibility of Phulpur and Mazwan seats. Kundarki and Kher are under the responsibility of state president Laxmikant Chaudhary, while Mirapur and Ghaziabad are under the responsibility of Dharampal Singh, general secretary of the organization.

Out of the 10 seats where by-elections are to be held, India alliance is strong in Kundarki in Moradabad, Kher in Aligarh, Seesamau in Kanpur, Katehri in Ambedkar Nagar, Milkipur in Ayodhya and Seesamau in Kanpur.
