Under pressure, 71 people were given land lease! Yogi government cracks down on corrupt officials; Two more PCS suspended

In Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, the game of land lease has been in the news. In this case, the administration knowingly gave leases in the names of 71 ineligible persons. After the matter came to light, DM Hardoi conducted an inquiry into the matter and based on his inquiry report, two PCS officials were suspended by issuing an order from the government level. One of them, Swati Shukla, is currently on the post of ADM Judicial in Farrukhabad, while the other, Pratith Tripathi, is the SDM in Etah. As soon as the matter came up in this matter, the DM suspended the accountants and the legislators.

According to the Hardoi district administration, the leasing game started when Swati Shukla was the SDM here. SDM Pratith Tripathi, who came after his transfer, also continued this gimmick. Here, based on the report of accountants and law officers, these officers gave land leases to 71 ineligible people. When the uproar started over the matter, DM Hardoi conducted an inquiry into the matter and after the allegations were proved to be true, the DM suspended the accountant and the legislators.

DM Hardoi also prepared a report against the then two SDMs in the same matter and sent it to the government. This matter was also brought to the notice of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Now these two officers have been suspended in an order issued from the government level on the instructions of the CM. He has been added to the Revenue Council with immediate effect as per the order issued by the Appointments Department. Along with this, the responsibility of further investigation in this matter has been entrusted to the Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow.

The case is for the year 2022-23

According to official information, in the year 2022-23, about 150 bighas of land were leased in Faridapur Gram Panchayat of Hardoi Sadar Tehsil. According to the law, these leases were to be given to landless people, so that they could earn. But when the matter was investigated after receiving the complaint, it was found that most of the people involved are those who already own agricultural land. After the matter came to light, DM Hardoi immediately declared all these leases void.
