In 2008, he was convicted in the Ahmedabad serial blasts and sentenced to life imprisonment.
56 people were killed in the Ahmedabad serial blasts, while 200 people were injured. Actually the responsibility of this blast was taken by Indian Mujahideen and Student Islamic Movement of India. But some people from Ujjain district were also involved in this serial blast, who are currently serving sentence in Ahmedabad Jail. Shafiq Ansari, accused of this blast, has been brought to Ujjain after being granted conditional parole by the Gujarat High Court. where he will attend a family function after which he will again be taken to Ahmedabad Jail.
Gujarat and MP police are monitoring
Two ACPs of Gujarat Police and a police team brought Ujjain terrorist Shafiq Ansari to his home. Shafiq Ansari sought parole for 5 days in the court to attend a family function, after which he has been brought to his home in Ujjain. He has been granted parole till September 29 by the Gujarat High Court. Along with Gujarat Police, Ujjain Police is also involved in its security.
Every visitor is being monitored
Shafiq Ansari’s house is in the Chimanganj Police Station area of ​​Ujjain, where the police are vigilantly on duty in 3 shifts. It is said that more than one and a half dozen police personnel from Ujjain and Gujarat are guarding in a single shift. Apart from this, every person coming and going is also being monitored. People are scared to see police stationed outside Shafiq Ansari’s house. The old people living in the area still recognize Shafiq, but to the new people he is known only as a terrorist, creating an atmosphere of fear.
Ahmedabad is guilty of serial blasts
On 26 July 2008, a serial blast took place in Maninagar, the assembly constituency of the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi. In which terrorists associated with Indian Mujahideen and Student Islamic Movement of India were involved. In this serial blast, 20 more blasts took place for 70 minutes. In which 56 people died and 200 people were injured. Safdar Nagauri of Mahidharpur and Shafiq Ansari of Ujjain are serving life sentences in the Ahmedabad serial blasts. Along with him, Ujjain’s Kamaruddin Nagauri and Abrar were also arrested. This too is in police custody.
