Expressing disappointment over the rape case at RG Car Hospital in Kolkata, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that the entire country is shocked by such an incident. Due to which an atmosphere of insecurity is being created between the medical community and women. He also said that the attempt to save the accused linked to the case raises serious questions on the hospital and the local administration as well. This statement of Rahul related to the rape case has come almost 6 days after the matter came to light. However, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had expressed grief in this matter earlier.
In his lengthy post on social media platform X, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “The entire country is shocked by the heinous incident of rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata. As layer after layer of brutal and inhumane acts against trainee doctors are unfolding, there is an atmosphere of insecurity among the doctor community and women.

Expressing dismay over the increasing cases of rape in the country, Rahul Gandhi said that from Hathras to Unnao and from Kathua to Kolkata, every party and every section must seriously discuss and take concrete steps on the ever-increasing incidents against women.
