4 percent increase in toll tax on Yamuna Expressway.

Commuters traveling on the Yamuna Expressway will now have to pay higher toll tax than before. Toll tax has been increased by 4 percent. The decision was taken in the 82nd meeting of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority on Thursday. Sources say the new rates will be effective from October 1. Yamuna Expressway is also known as Taj Expressway. After two and a half years, the toll plaza rates have been increased.

The rate for 2022 and 2023 has been increased by 4 percent. Earlier there was an increase of 12 percent. As per rule the rates are increased every year. Now the increased rates will be implemented after the approval of the government. For the land acquired for this expressway, 64 percent compensation could not be given to the farmers.

Now the remaining compensation from this amount will also be given to the farmers. This information has been given by Arunveer Singh, CEO of Yamuna Authority. The issue of arrears of farmers has been going on for a long time. There has also been a controversy regarding this. Along with this, how to develop Yamuna City was also discussed. However, no information has come out about this yet.

Yamuna City is planned to be modern, smart and eco-friendly. In this project, the government is working on providing new employment opportunities along with development.
