Heavy rain is continuing in many states of the country. The Meteorological Department has predicted more rain. Gujarat has been affected the most by continuous rains. Many cities of the state are in the grip of floods. More than 30 people have died due to rain. More than 900 roads are closed. Rivers are flowing above the danger mark. People trapped in flood are being rescued. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain at various places in Gujarat’s Saurashtra and Kutch on Friday. Apart from this, rain may occur in the state on 2nd and 3rd September.
Apart from Gujarat, the Meteorological Department has given information to Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala. , Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura have issued rain warning.
Chance of cyclonic storm
According to the IMD bulletin, the deep depression over Saurashtra and Kutch is likely to turn into a cyclonic storm over East Arabian Sea on August 30. Thereafter, it will continue to move in a nearly west-southwest direction over the Indian coast over the northeast Arabian Sea during the next 2 days. Due to which there may be heavy rain in most parts of the country.
Heavy rains in Delhi-NCR
It rained heavily in Delhi on Thursday. The sky was cloudy all day. The temperature also decreased. Due to heavy rains on Wednesday-Thursday night, several areas of the national capital Delhi were flooded. The inundation made it difficult for people to evacuate. In many areas, vehicles were seen drowning due to excessive waterlogging. Due to rains in Delhi, the problem of traffic jams continues.
A similar situation was seen in the cities of NCR. The Meteorological Department has predicted scattered rain in Delhi-NCR on Friday. Also, isolated rain is likely over Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, West Rajasthan during the week.
Rain alert in these states too
The Meteorological Department has expressed hope for relief from rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and East Rajasthan. The department says scattered and widespread light/moderate rain may occur over these areas. Apart from this, heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Chhattisgarh on August 31, Madhya Maharashtra and Goa’s ghat region during September 2 and 4, Goa during September 1.
