All the political parties are in active mode regarding the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. In this series, National Conference, Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have announced candidates for the first phase. Let us tell you that today is the last day of nomination for the first phase of voting.

In fact, the assembly elections to be held in the state after 10 years will be held in three phases. The Election Commission said that the election process in Jammu and Kashmir will be completed by October 4. However, the first phase of voting will be held on September 18.

Nominations can be withdrawn till 30th August

The notification for the first phase of polling was released on August 20. Today is the last day for nominations. After which the nomination will be verified on 28th August and it can be withdrawn till 30th August. After that, voting will be held on September 18.

The election results will be out on October 4

Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar said that the second phase of voting will be held on September 25. The third phase of voting will be held on October 1. Along with this, the Code of Conduct has been implemented in the Union Territory. Assembly election results will be out on October 4.

Congress first list announced

The Congress on Monday announced the first list of nine candidates for the three-phase assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The Congress has released this list after reaching an agreement on seat sharing with the allied National Conference. NC and Congress have agreed to contest on 51 and 32 seats in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.

NC released the list of 18 candidates

After reaching an agreement with the Congress on seat distribution for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, the National Conference (MC) on Monday released the first list of 18 candidates for the first phase. The party said in a post on social media platform X that MC President Farooq Abdullah has approved the list.

BJP fielded 16 candidates

BJP on Monday announced the names of 16 candidates for the first phase of assembly elections. In the first phase, voting will be held on September 18 on 16 assembly seats in South Kashmir and 8 assembly seats in Jammu region. The first list released by the party had the names of 15 candidates, while the second list released shortly after announced only one candidate. Earlier, a total of 44 candidates were released for the three phases, with 10 candidates for the second phase and 19 candidates for the third phase.
