Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Jawahar Sarkar resigned on Thursday in connection with the rape-murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. In a letter to Vice President and Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdeep Dhankhar, Jawahar Sarkar said he was resigning from the Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha membership. Please accept his resignation letter.

Let us tell you that the Jawahar government had already announced to resign from the post of MP against the Kolkata rape murder case. After the resignation announcement, Mamata Banerjee called him and requested him to reconsider the resignation letter, but the Jawahar government refused to listen to Mamata Banerjee. He said that he has promised the common people and now he will not back down from resigning.
