Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s position has changed a lot after the Lok Sabha elections. Not only has he become the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, he is also gaining acceptance among his colleagues. In 2019, even veteran opposition leaders like Mamata Banerjee and Sharad Pawar were not ready to accept Rahul as the leader of the opposition. But now times have changed and the opposition is seeing a new hope in the form of Rahul Gandhi.

There is a big change in attitude towards Rahul. On behalf of Sharad Pawar, Rahul Gandhi as leader of Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi has been invited to participate in the famous annual pilgrimage to Pandharpur in Maharashtra. If sources are to be believed, Congress leaders are planning to participate in this yatra on foot for some time on 14th July (Sunday).

A 250 km long religious pilgrimage

This annual pilgrimage to Pandharpur is about 250 kilometers with the palanquin of the social reformer Sant Tukaram and Sant Gnaneshwar performing bhajan kirtan. Encompassing Dalit upliftment, social reform and developing Hindu society, the Yatra is considered very important in Maharashtra politics. Sharad Pawar, the pioneer of Maharashtra politics, has realized that the alliance of Dalits, Muslims and Marathas is the key to Aghadi’s victory. Which is also visible in the recent elections.
