22-year-old Lakshmi, a resident of Sardar Nagar village in Nawabganj, Bareilly, went shopping on a scooty with her cousin Sapna. Sapna says that while returning from there, a car stopped near her scooter on the Pilibhit highway in Hafizganj area. Businessman Monu Gupta and his wife were sitting in the car. He made Lakshmi sit in the car. Lakshmi says to Sapna, please wait for a while, I will come and go soon.
Sapna informed the family after Lakshmi did not return for a long time. As Lakshmi did not come all night, the family went to the police station and filed a complaint, but the police did not listen. The family members say that after the body of the girl was found, a case was registered with the police and the youth was arrested. Police are investigating the case. The girl’s throat was slit.
