In Bihar’s Poornia, the havoc caused by a truck coming at full speed was seen. Here a young man was taking his elderly parents somewhere on a bike. Then a truck coming at full speed hit the three of them hard. Due to which the three people including the bike came under the truck. The speed of the truck was such that it did not stop and dragged the trio for 200 meters. The elderly couple died as soon as the truck driver applied the brakes. His son was lying in a pool of blood.
The truck driver started fleeing from the spot. But the people present at the place caught him. The police were informed about the accident. The injured youth was immediately taken to the hospital and the accused truck driver was arrested. Currently, the condition of the injured youth is critical. The incident took place near the Mahamaya temple in Purnia city. The deceased couple have been identified as 72-year-old Lalu Uran and 65-year-old Parvati Devi. His 23-year-old son Sylvester was seriously injured in the accident. His treatment is ongoing.
Police said Sylvester had left Zil Tola village on a bike with his parents around 4 pm on Sunday. But on the way, a speeding truck hit him hard. Due to which the three including the bike came under the truck. The truck kept moving without stopping. The truck dragged the trio and took them 200 meters further. There was an uproar at the place. The truck driver braked the truck. On coming down, found that the old couple had died. His son was crying in pain.
A sense of grief spread through the family
The truck driver started fleeing from the spot. But the people present caught him. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot. The truck driver was arrested and the injured Sylvester was taken to a nearby hospital and the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem. When the family members came to know about the accident, there was an atmosphere of mourning. Eyewitnesses said that the scene of the accident was very scary. Currently, the accused truck driver is in police custody. Further action has been taken against him.
