This Marathi leader from Gujarat has travelled from being a minister, constable to a minister in Modi cabinet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time today. Along with him, the ministers of his new cabinet also took oath today. Many new ministers are seen in this new cabinet of Modi. Many leaders are becoming ministers for the first time, so they are also in the news. The Bharatiya Janata Party once again gave him a chance from Navsari Lok Sabha seat of Gujarat. He is a three-time MP from this constituency. He has won this year. The name of this Marathi leader is CR Patil. CR Patil’s full name is Chandrakant Raghunath Patil. He has been winning from this seat since 2009. He is one of Modi’s special leaders. CR Patil is also the BJP President of Gujarat.

CR Patil was born on 16 March 1955 in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. His father was a police constable. Like his father, he also joined the police service. But after a few years he resigned from the police service and tried his luck in politics. Before this he had done journalism. He started a Gujarati daily named ‘Navgujarat Times’ in 1991, but before joining journalism he had many responsibilities in the party.

Politics started from Surat

CR Patil has a good command over Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi and English languages. Studied ITI from Surat. Joined Gujarat Police in 1975. He started his political career with BJP in 1989. He became the treasurer of Surat BJP committee. Later he became the vice-president of Surat city.

He was appointed as the chairman of the state PSU Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) by the then Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel in 1998. In 1995, he came in contact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was then the state general secretary.

He was inducted into the Union Cabinet after consecutive victories since 2009. In 2014, he was re-elected from the Navsari constituency in the 16th Lok Sabha elections and won by a huge margin of 5,58,116 votes.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Patil defeated Dharmeshbai Patel of the Congress by 6,89,688 votes. Patil is the first MP in the country whose office has received ISO 9001:2015 certification.
