The junior doctors have been on strike for the past 36 days over the rape and murder of a lady doctor on August 9. Earlier in Nabanna, an attempt to communicate between CM Mamata Banerjee and doctors failed. On Saturday afternoon, CM Mamata Banerjee herself reached the doctor’s protest site and said that the government wants to punish the culprit. After this he proposed to talk to the doctors.

Mamata spoke to the doctors for about 7 minutes on Saturday and asked them to end the protest. After this, the doctors were called to his house for a discussion, the doctors also went to the Chief Minister’s residence, but the matter got stuck on the issue of live streaming and no further discussion could take place. In the previous meeting, the CM sat for hours but the doctors did not come.

Mamata said- I am not greedy for the post

On Saturday, Mamata Banerjee asked doctors not to get drenched in rainwater and come inside and talk. I am not greedy for position. I believe the movement is right. I myself came out of the student movement. I too have suffered a lot. For me, it is a great thing to be a man, not a position. Today has been 34 days. Since then I have not been able to sleep either. I also have to protect you when you are on the road.
