Jharkhand government has ordered to shut down internet services during competitive exams.
The Jharkhand government’s decision to shut down internet services during competitive exams has now assumed a political dimension. The state’s opposition party, the Bharatiya Janata Party, termed the state government’s decision to suspend mobile internet services for five hours on Saturday and Sunday in view of the competitive examination as another order to cover up its failing system.
According to the official notification of the state government, mobile internet services will be suspended from 8 am to 1.30 pm on Saturday and during the same period on Sunday to avoid any disruption during the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGGLCCE).
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said on Friday that he had spoken to senior officials about the exam preparations and issued a strict instruction that negligence would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Just spoke to the senior officials and informed them about the preparations for the Combined Graduate Level (JSSC CGL) exam to be conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission from tomorrow and gave them the necessary guidelines.
Negligence of any kind will not be entertained under any circumstances.

BJP issued an ordinance
On the government’s decision, BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev said that when the Jharkhand government could not create a foolproof system to prevent malpractices in the examination, it shut down the internet for 3.5 crore people across the state. He said, this is another arbitrary order to hide the failed system of the government. This decision shows that the state government has completely failed.
Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth also criticized the decision to suspend mobile internet services and said it would cause a lot of inconvenience to people. The BJP leader said the notification shows the Jharkhand government’s failure to curb unfair practices in examinations. He also claimed that mobile internet along with broadband services have also been suspended in the state.
