Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray.
Political heat is being seen in Maharashtra regarding the budget presented by the Eknath Shinde government. Former Chief Minister of the state and President of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Bala Saheb Thackeray) Uddhav Thackeray targeted the budget. He termed the assurances given in the budget as fraud and nonsense, saying that it pretends to give something to every section of the society.
Speaking to the media after the budget, the former CM said that the announcement of a monthly allowance of Rs 1500 to deserving women is an attempt to woo women voters ahead of the assembly elections in the state. Thackeray asked why equal allowances for men had not been announced despite rising unemployment. Nothing is being done to create employment in the state.
The former chief minister said that this budget is only a package of assurances. This is a spurious attempt to bring all the departments together. Devendra Fadnavis calls this a fraud. Earlier, while presenting the budget with a revenue deficit of Rs 20,051 crore, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar had announced an outlay of Rs 80 thousand crore for various sections, including women, youth and farmers.
Demand for formation of committee for schemes
Uddhav Thackeray said that a committee of experts should be formed. The committee should find out how many schemes announced by the Mahayuti government in the last two years were implemented. The former chief minister said there was no mention of how the funds would be collected. He said that the announcement in the budget is not helping the ruling party as people are waiting for the assembly elections to defeat it. Maharashtra is being looted and people who are looting it will not get votes.
Nana Patole was also targeted
Along with this, Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole also attacked the government regarding the budget. Targeting the Chief Minister Mari Ladki Behan Yojana, he said what will happen to 1500 rupees at the time of inflation. He said that as far as the plan to waive farmers’ electricity bills is concerned, it is only a show. The government has ignored the Congress demand for complete loan waiver of farmers.
