Randeep Hooda said this about Hrithik-Shahid
Bollywood’s versatile actor Randeep Hooda has proved his mettle in the film industry with his powerful performance. Randeep Hooda prefers to do films that are very different from other actors. Randeep Hooda started his acting career with the film ‘Monsoon Wedding’ in 2001. Since then Randeep has worked in only 34 films. At an event recently, the actor shared why he chooses films differently from other actors.
During a summit, Randeep Hooda opened up about his career and his choices regarding films. The actor said that he was very lucky that despite not working in many films, he chose films of his choice. Randeep also shared why he likes to play different types of roles in each film.
Entertainment does not require the use of brains
Randeep Hooda said at the India Today Mind Rocks Youth Summit in Bengaluru that he never wanted to work only in popular masala films where he didn’t have to use his brain. Regarding his choice of films, the actor said, “I always didn’t want to do only showy films. Everywhere we are looking for entertainment and in entertainment we don’t need to use our brain too much.
“I can do what Hrithik-Shahid can’t.”
Randeep said, “I was not good at dancing so I chose acting. Hrithik, Shahid and Tiger dance well so why should I compete with them? In my eyes, they can’t do what I can do. He is good at dancing and I am good at acting. Everyone has their own USP, so no one can have any competition with the other.
“Not on set for 11 years”
Randeep continued, “But, I have been very lucky that I have chosen few films, but whatever I have chosen, I have chosen as per my wish. Out of 24 years of my career as a professional actor, I have not been on set for 11 years. So either I’m waiting for a film of my choice or I’m preparing myself for something.
That’s why I love transformational acting
During the same event, when Randeep Hooda was asked to do a little dance on stage, he refused, saying, “That’s why I love doing transformational acting, where you prepare yourself to know the truth of a character. For example, I have played many police characters, but I have never played a uniformed cardboard policeman. Only such characters change you.”
Randeep shared that he wants to work in fewer films, but will only work on good projects. Randeep Hooda was last seen in the film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, although the film did not do well at the box office. After this Randeep is yet to reveal anything about his next project.
