Demonstration against the Kolkata case
After the rape-murder case of a junior doctor at the RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, West Bengal last month, people across the country took to the streets in protests. Doctors went on strike, junior doctors are also agitating with the victim’s parents, who are saying that the protest will continue till the victim gets justice.
In this regard, a meeting was organized by the state government, which was held to interact with the agitating junior doctors. Regarding this, Dr. Arnab Mukhopadhyay, who is associated with the movement, said that we saw that a public meeting was organized by the state government, in which the Minister of State for Health Chandrima Bhattacharya was also present. He made some points in the meeting, including that he is waiting for us to talk to the doctors with an open mind, so we want to make it clear that we are also ready to talk to him with an open mind.

This is very insulting
He further said that we are ready to talk about our agitation going on for 30-32 days. Regarding this we demanded that the scheduled meeting should be telecasted live, so that everything is clear and we don’t think there is any problem in this. He also said that he was asked to speak to 10 people but the doctor said that we are with junior doctors from all over West Bengal. Meeting with 10 people, it is very humiliating for us.
Sat in AC room disappointed
Along with this he also said that if they are saying that they are frustrated then we want to say that they are frustrated sitting in the AC room and we are frustrated sitting here on the road. We know that our demands will be fulfilled only after the talks but we will all go on talking like this and till then our protest will continue like this.
