Team India in Sharjah for 25 years

India will play their last group stage match against Australia in Sharjah. This will be the first time in the last 25 years that the Indian men’s or women’s team will play a match at this ground.
Many matches of the T20 World Cup will be held in Dubai. All 10 teams participating in the tournament have never played a T20 International match in Dubai before. That means Dubai will host these teams for the first time. Also, this is the first time that the Women’s T20 World Cup is going to be held at a neutral venue. Earlier, these tournaments were hosted by one or the other team participating in the tournament. This time it was hosted by Bangladesh but due to political upheaval the tournament had to be shifted to the UAE, making the venue neutral for all teams.

The ICC recently took a big step to promote parity and made the prize money of the Women’s T20 World Cup at par with the Men’s T20 World Cup. In the last edition, the prize money was $1 million, which has increased by 134 percent to $2.34 million.
