Arrest of the accused
A fake call center has been busted by a police team in Uttar Pradesh’s Lalitpur. The cyber crime team and the police have busted this call center. According to the police, marksheets and important documents were collected from people through the call center by luring them with jobs in airports and other departments. Loans of lakhs of rupees were taken from people by forming companies with the help of mark sheets and documents. Also after creating the company it was sold. The victim said that the GST department had sent her a GST notice worth lakhs of rupees in her name. While investigating the case, the police have arrested 14 people associated with the fake call center.
Rajkumar, son of Ramesh Rajak, who lives in Bijrautha village of Talbehat police station, lodged a complaint in this matter two months ago. Police said the victim had said that he had not formed any company but still the company was registered in his name. Iron worth crores of rupees was bought in the name of a company registered in his name.
The police started the investigation based on the complaint of the victim
The victim said that after buying iron worth crores of rupees, a GST evasion notice came in her name. The victim also said that someone called her and asked for PAN card, Aadhaar card and other important documents to get a job. After which the matter was investigated and the fake call center was exposed. A laptop, smart phone, email ID and SIM card have been recovered from him.
Calls on the pretext of getting a job
Police said Delhi-based Chandan Kumar Mishra alias Varun Mishra was running a fake call center at B 292, Street No. 14 Bhatta Road, Swarup Nagar, Rajiv Gandhi Marg. They used to call people from call centers on the pretext of getting jobs and collect their important documents. They used to create fake companies using documents taken from people and sell them to others and buy millions of rupees in the name of the same companies and evade GST.
14 people including 9 women arrested
The cyber team raided the fake college center and arrested 14 people including 5 men and 9 women. From the spot, the team seized 7 laptops, 2 iPhones, 14 Android phones, 15 key-paid phones, 102 SIM cards, 714 mail IDs, 28 accounting registers and Wi-Fi models besides documents related to fake companies. SP has given a reward of 25 thousand rupees to the cyber team for exposing the fake call center.
