What will be the retention rules regarding IPL 2025? Official information regarding this may come out anytime. As per current estimates, each franchise can retain its 5 players, out of which 3 will be Indian and 2 foreign. Apart from this, it will be interesting to see what BCCI’s decision is regarding RTM i.e. Right to Match. However, here we will only talk about those 10 bowlers whose retention seems certain. These 10 bowlers will be 1-1 from all 10 teams playing IPL.

Let us now know which bowler each franchise can retain and why? Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals are the 10 teams of IPL. All these teams have at least one bowler they want to retain. Because that bowler has been the big strength of his team in the last season.

Which team will retain which bowler?

Mumbai Indians will be the only bowler to retain Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah is a match-winning player and has been a part of the Mumbai franchise since 2013. So far he has played 133 matches on the IPL pitch for this team, in which he has taken 165 wickets.

Chennai Super Kings may retain Mathisha Pathirana who has the bowling action of Lasith Malinga. Pathirana has been a part of CSK since 2022 and has taken 35 wickets in 20 matches played for the team.

The first bowler that Royal Challengers Bangalore might consider retaining could be Mohammed Siraj. Like Virat Kohli, Siraj is also a key member of this franchise.

Punjab Kings may consider retaining Arshdeep Singh. Arshdeep has been associated with the franchise since 2019 and has taken 76 wickets in 65 matches, of which he has taken the highest 19 wickets in IPL 2024.

Sunrisers Hyderabad may consider retaining Bhuneshwar Kumar. Bhuvi has been a part of SRH for a long time. He is also holding the responsibility of vice captain and captaincy of this team. So far he has taken 181 wickets on the IPL pitch.

Delhi Capitals may look to retain Enrique Norrgia. However, there have also been injury problems with Norkhia. Norkhia has taken 60 wickets in 46 matches played so far.

The bowler that Rajasthan Royals can retain could be Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal’s name is recorded among the bowlers who have taken the most wickets in the history of IPL. He has taken 205 wickets so far.

Lucknow Super Giants may look to retain Ravi Bishnoi. Bishnoi, who made his IPL debut in 2020, has taken 63 wickets so far.

The only bowler Gujarat Giants can retain is Mohammad Shami. Shami, who took 127 wickets in 110 matches on the IPL pitch, missed last season due to injury. Kolkata Knight Riders can retain their mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty. Varun Chakraborty has taken 83 wickets in 71 matches so far.
