Municipal Corporation of Delhi has fixed the rates for cremation
The Delhi Municipal Corporation has decided to stop arbitrarily charging money for cremation and rituals. The municipal corporation has fixed a rate list for cremation at cremation grounds, wherein all cremation grounds in Delhi will charge Rs 500 for cremation and cremation from the pandits who carry out the process. From there an amount of Rs.300 has been fixed. After this change, people coming for the last rites of their relatives will not face any problem. The same rate will be applied to all cremation grounds including Bodhghat, Jamuna Bazar, Panchkuin Road, Subhash Nagar, Green Park, Dwarka.
After this change, family members will avoid arguments and friction on the ghat due to higher rates. Complaints were being made to the police about Pandits for a long time. People complained that Pandit misbehaved with people coming to the crematorium. Now after this change made by the Municipal Corporation we will be relieved from paying thousands of rupees extorted by Pandits. The lower castes also complained that they were treated so badly by the Pandits that they did not even come later to collect the ashes of their relatives.
The new rates have been fixed by the Municipal Corporation
As per the new rates fixed by the Municipal Corporation, per quintal firewood costs Rs 700, CNG Rs 1500, cremation Rs 500, electric cremation Rs 500, Pandit Church Rs 500, cremation Rs 350. For cremation of child Rs. 300, for maintenance Rs. 150, for dead body Rs. 500 and for taking the dead body outside the municipality Rs. 800 has been fixed.
