India is well positioned to take advantage of the new jobs that will emerge due to Artificial Intelligence or AI. Meta India Vice President Sandhya Devanathan has expressed this hope. She firmly believes that AI will now open doors to new opportunities for India.
Commenting on the ongoing debate on AI and its impact on employment, Devanathan said that I think India is well positioned to take advantage of the new jobs that will emerge with AI. He said that the nature of jobs may change, though this will create new types of jobs. He said that new things can emerge because of AI. And this will open up new opportunities for us as a country.
This is the situation in the United Kingdom.
Unlike the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) report, a report published by the UK Department for Education found that teaching professions, along with management consultants and business analysts, accountants and psychologists, are the most at risk from AI. While the finance and insurance sectors are more exposed to AI than any other sector. The report says other sectors that come into contact with AI are information and communication, professional, scientific, public administration and defence, and education.
The report by the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) has identified two main phases of generic AI adoption: a first wave, which is already underway, and a second wave where companies are incorporating AI technology into their processes, PA media reported. It will cover in more depth a stage where it suggests up to 59 per cent. If there is no intervention, tasks performed by employees may be at risk due to AI.
