Police arrested
A woman was killed and a girl was attempted to be killed in Purva Mir, Maharajpur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh yesterday. In this case, Kamleswar Kamalu, the accused who killed a woman and seriously assaulted a girl who was sleeping with her, was injured in an encounter near the Domanpur Ganga bridge and was arrested.
Police Commissionerate Kanpur DCP East Shravan Kumar said that the Maharajpur incident came to light within 24 hours of the incident. After the encounter with the accused, he was shot in the right leg. He is being treated. In the preliminary investigation, the accused has also confessed his crime. The police said that Shankar Savita, the husband of the murdered woman, died 10 years ago. His two sons who are married live outside. Matka Kusum lived alone in the village. Dinesh’s house is a little far from Kusum’s house. Dinesh is Kushma’s brother-in-law’s son.
Priyanshi was sleeping with mother
Giving information about the incident, Dinesh said that Priyanshi was sleeping with Kusum at her house at night, but when she came to know about the incident in the morning, the ground slipped from under her feet. Kamita Devi’s blood soaked body was lying on the ground. His daughter was also in critical condition, covered in blood. Both were hit on the head with a brick.
After investigating the entire matter, the police collected some evidence. During the local investigation, the police suspected the accused Kamlu alias Kamlesh. When the police reached his house, he fled from there. After this, the police waited for Kamalu to return to the village late at night and, on receiving information, stopped him at Gangapur to arrest him. But Kamalu fired. Seeing this, the police force also retaliated and Kamalu was shot in the leg.

DCP Shrawan Kumar Singh said that Priyanshi is undergoing treatment at Haider Hospital. Also, when Priyanshi was shown his photo after the encounter with the accused, he identified him. According to the police, Kamalu alias Kamlesh is a resident of a neighboring village and is addicted to drugs. He captures Priyanshi, but Kusuma’s protest enrages the accused and kills her by pelting her with bricks and stones. Also tried to kill the girl.
