A major disaster was averted

On the night of 18 September, an iron pillar about 6 meters long was found lying on the railway track between Bilaspur and Rudrapur City railway stations. The driver stopped the train by applying emergency brake, due to which a major accident was avoided.

According to the officer, during the interrogation, it was found that Sunny and Tinku used to go there frequently to drink alcohol. Even on the day of the incident, he was drinking alcohol near the railway track and was stealing an iron pole lying nearby. The ground was rough and Sunny and Tinku were quite drunk. While they were carrying the pole, they heard a train horn, after which they ran away leaving the pole there. His intention was not to overturn the train. But his move could have led to something bigger.
