The driver stopped the train by applying brakes. The youth has been injured in this incident. He has been admitted to the hospital.
The incident took place near Balod railway station. One of the fingers of the young man’s hand has been amputated. He has a slight head injury. He has been admitted to the district hospital. Due to this action of the youth, the train from Raipur to Tadoki (North Bastar) was delayed by 2 hours. As soon as the information was received, the railway officials also reached the spot.
The youth is a resident of Balod
The youth’s name is Lakshmi Narayan, a resident of Paras, Balod. A few days ago, he was released from jail on bail in a theft case. On March 11, 2024, Balod police arrested him in two separate theft cases. Even before this, he has gone to jail in a case of theft. However, it is not known why the youth wanted to commit suicide. Balod police are busy investigating this.
A police officer said
Balod police station in-charge Ravi Shankar Pandey said that the injured youth, Lakshmi Narayan Gandharva, is of criminal nature, who has been jailed for three to four cases of theft earlier. He was released on bail a few days ago. Now the reason why he wanted to commit suicide is not known. It is being verified. The youth was drunk at the time of the incident. The police team reached the hospital. Tried talking to him. But he couldn’t quite say anything. Information has been sent to his family.
