Coaching basement flooded
Two students preparing for UPSC have died due to flooding in the basement of a coaching center in Old Rajendra, Delhi. Heavy rain water could not drain out due to waterlogging on the roads. Meanwhile, the basement gate of a coaching center broke and suddenly the basement got flooded. Due to this, many students present there started drowning. NDRF and fire tenders reached the spot to rescue the students.
According to information, the accident took place at Rao Sanstha, which conducts UPSC preparation in old Rajendra Nagar. After heavy rains, the entire area was flooded. There was a lot of water on the road so the cellar doors broke and started flooding. Many students were already there. He got stuck in the water. The incident was reported to the fire brigade at 7 pm. After which the fire brigade team and NDRF team immediately reached the spot and started rescue operations.
The Delhi government has ordered an inquiry
It is being told that 5-7 children were present in the basement when the accident took place. All the people were trapped in the basement due to the sudden flood. Currently 2 students who are preparing for UPSC have died. On this tragedy, MP Bansuri Swaraj has claimed that the children died due to electric shock. It is not confirmed how many students are currently trapped and how many are missing. The Delhi government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the entire matter.
Rescue work is still going on
The basement of the coaching center is completely flooded. In such a situation, NDRF divers are trying to find the stranded students. Rescue operations are becoming more difficult due to night. The basement was about 9 feet deep and completely filled with water. Efforts are on to trace the missing students.
