The basement of the coaching center in old Rajendra Nagar was flooded after rains in Delhi on Saturday. The basement was suddenly filled with so much water that many students were trapped. According to sources, investigations so far have revealed that the basement housed the library of the coaching centre. There were 30-35 students present at the time when rain water was filling the basement. So far, the bodies of two female students have been recovered from the incident.
Students stood on benches watching the water fill the basement. Due to the water pressure, the glass in the basement started to burst. After this, several students somehow came out of the basement and many were pulled out with the help of ropes while some remained trapped in the basement. The library usually closes at 7, but the students were stuck there because of the rain.
Minister Atishi said – criminals will not be spared
In this incident, Delhi Minister Atishi has directed the Chief Secretary to initiate a magisterial inquiry into the incident of students trapped in the basement of a coaching institute due to heavy rains and floods and submit a report within 24 hours. He said that the culprits will not be released in this incident.
Bansuri Swaraj made serious allegations
At the same time, BJP MP from New Delhi Bansuri Swaraj said that these children came here to improve their future but the Delhi government did not listen to the local people. Here MLA Durgesh Pathak asked to clean the drains but it was not done. The basement is completely filled with water and the furniture inside is floating.
