The police reached Hamirpur after getting information about the murder
An incident that shames humanity has come to light in Hamirpur of Uttar Pradesh. A farmer of the same village was beaten to death by goons due to a minor dispute here. The dying farmer was begging for water, but no one came to save him due to fear of goons. The incident took place in Patara village on Sunday evening. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and registered a case against three accused and arrested one. The deceased has been identified as Chotalal Prajapati (40), a resident of Patara village.
According to the police, on Saturday afternoon, Chhotalal was grazing goats on the embankment of the farm belonging to powerful Atar Singh of village. Meanwhile, his goat entered Atar Singh’s field. There was a fight between Atar Singh and Chotalal on this matter. On the same night Atar Singh and his two sons went to Chhotalal’s house and also beat up his wife. In the same sequence on Sunday too, when Chhotalal reached the field to graze goats, he was once again surrounded by Atar Singh and his two sons.
He died while asking for water
During this time, the accused beat Chhotalal badly and brought him half dead in a car to the village and dumped him at the crossroads. During this time Chhotalal kept begging for water, but none of the villagers dared to give even two drops of water to Chhotalal due to the fear of being bullied by the accused. Chhotalal died shortly after. After this the accused left her in the same condition. On receiving the information, Chhotalal’s brother Shivdutt Prajapati and his wife reached the spot.

Arrest of one accused
It was he who informed the police about the incident. Following this, the police have registered a case under relevant sections against Attar Singh and his two sons and have started investigation into the matter. According to Hamirpur SP Diksha Sharma, the accused committed the crime due to an old enmity. The police have arrested the main accused in this case. He said that the police is investigating the matter and a charge sheet will be prepared according to whatever facts come to light in the meantime.
